OUR FIRST COMMUNITY HAIKU
Kamal @ boundlessBlessingsBlog and yours truly, scribeforlove.blog have decided to collaborate on creating a “Community Haiku‘ experience by sharing in the composition of the 3 lines of 5/7/5 syllable poem format. Here’s our first attempt…we’re stepping out…
COMMUNITY HAIKU
THE WIND ISN’T SILENT
CALMNESS TWIRLING IN SANDS OF BROWN
IT CARRIES MY THOUGHTS
…The camel seeing the expanse of sands — replies Kamal!
We welcome any one of you to join us in creating this ‘Community Haiku.’
Kamal will propose the first line with a common theme or key word.
I will develop the second line (to extend the theme or key word) and choose an appropriate image, and
You may complete the last line of the Haiku with an opposite twist.
We believe this practice will result in a unique combination of thoughts – not otherwise formed alone.
Let’s work up the draft on Wednesday and I will post it on THURSDAY – calling it
THURSDAY’S COMMUNITY HAIKU
Everyone participating will be given credit and I will post the final copy; we can surely work out the kinks as we proceed.
Please let us know if you will join us in this new writing adventure.
Margaret D. McGee, author of “Haiku – the Sacred Art” said this about community Haiku:
“For me, writing in a group always becomes a challenging exercise in turning off my inner critic and accepting what is on the page.”
Good advice we should follow, yes?
Sincerely, Kamal and your scribe for love
