The Hand of God Sculpture by Auguste Rodin

at the Metropolitan Museum of New York

Much like a Provençale creche in Avignon or a Nativity scene in Rome, this giant of sacred art impressively emerged from a rough stone base and clump of white clay and later was bronzed in iron.  Can you see Rodin’s relationship with ‘the hand of God’ forming Adam and Eve?  Can you feel the beauty of their union with Him?

“Stop acting so small.  You are the universe in ecstatic motion.”  –Rumi
