Today ushers the extraordinary season of Advent to honor the birth of Baby Jesus born to die to save us. It’s also the occasion to anticipate and prepare for the second coming of the Lord in each of our hearts. Do we ask ourselves these questions? Are we as ready as can be? What changes have we put off this year for the future? Do we recognize everyone as a child of God? Perhaps, if we see this special season as a personal Advent, we will be able to recognize that “God wants to enter into our lives” personally. –Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
We receive this Christmas Love every day of the year whether or not we live by organized schedules. I used to be that way but not anymore. I have discovered that being led by God in everything gives me more peace and ease in living as He delights me with so many benevolent surprises. Everywhere I turn, I am able to see God in the mix and loving Him wholeheartedly never disappoints – thank goodness, God’s ways are not our ways.
There’s room enough in this holy Advent time to decorate the home, bake cookies and shop for gifts…just don’t forget to embrace God’s Love for you. Becoming His best friend for others will be the best way to prepare for His second coming, plus we won’t be fearful of the end time.
May this prayer encourage you to welcome Christ in offering you His Christmas Peace:
O sweet Child of Bethlehem, grant that we may share with all hearts in this profound mystery of Christmas.
Put into the hearts of men and women this peace for which they sometimes seek so desperately and which You alone can give them. Reveal to them also Your beauty, holiness and purity. Awaken in their hearts love and gratitude for Your infinite goodness. Join them all together in Your Love and give us Your heavenly peace. Amen. –Pope John XXIII
I will offer this prayer for you to receive an abundant Advent.
