SEEING AS I AM

INKLING FOR Honesty

“Be you – the world will adjust.”  –Buddhist Proverb

Looking into the mirror, sensing the ‘naturelle,’ honesty glares back and I can smile saying:

Only for today, I will firmly believe, despite appearances, that the good providence of God cares for you and me as no one else who exists in this world.”

A THOUGHT AND MEDITATION

“Don’t think.  Don’t get lost in your thoughts.  Your thoughts are a veil on the face of the moon.  That moon is your heart.  So let them go — Just let them fall into the water.”

–Rumi

During this last week in November, we have the feast of Thanksgiving to thank for.  The opportunity to take time for a little reflection and close the door to a hurried world…and open our heart to grateful living.

So may this week not catch you off guard, but rejoice in remembering a little, dreaming a little, each day is your day.

COME AND SEE

SATURDAY’S MANTRA

When Jesus commanded that Zacchaeus come down from the sycamore tree, he invited him to come and see.

“Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for today I must stay at your house.”

–Luke 19:1-10

This invitation is ours too.  We can either stay in the viewing gallery or come down in the heart of the playing field where Jesus wants to give us something that will change our life for the good, but will require some sacrifice on our part.

“Only for today, I will adapt to circumstances, without requiring all circumstances to be adapted to my own wishes.”

–The Decalogue, Pope John XXIII

“Mantras are passwords that transform the mundane into the sacred.”

–Deva Premal

Isn’t life a mosaic full of mantras suited to each individual?

Happy Saturday!

GLADNESS OF DEVOTION

A THOUGHT AND MEDITATION

Teach me how to trust my heart, my mind, my intuition, my inner knowing, the senses of my body, the blessings of my spirit.

“Teach me to trust these things so that I may enter my sacred space and love beyond my fear and thus walk in balance with the passing of each glorious sun.”

–A Lakota Prayer

“Let your “Yes mean “Yes,” and your “No mean “No.”  Anything more is from the evil one.”

–Matthew 5:37

WHAT IS FASHIONABLE?

POINT TO PONDER

Perhaps nostalgic, I find today’s fashions to be monotonously erratic.  I wear what is simple and comfortable and I done less jewelry.

Innocently, I believe in “loving what you wear, and that roses are always fashionable!”

“Only for today, I will take the greatest care of my appearance:  I will dress modestly; I will not raise my voice; I will be courteous in my behavior; I will not criticize anyone; I will not claim to improve or to discipline anyone except myself.”

–The Decalogue, Pope John XXIII
