I gladly invite you to come with me into the silent Joy of Advent.
“Advent is a time of waiting, of expectations, of silence. Waiting for our Lord to be born.”
“A pregnant woman is so happy, so content. She lives in such a garment of silence, and it is as though she were listening to hear the stir of life within her.”
“One always hears that stirring compared to the rustling of a bird in the hand. But the intentness with which one awaits such stirring is like nothing so much as a blanket of silence.”
—Dorothy Day
Last year after Christmas I was clothed with a silent pain from a freak accident working in my yard ripping the front of my left leg. I’ve spent this entire year grateful I did not lose my limb; my scar is dissipating. Praise the Lord, for he has healed me from head to toe and all I want is to shout and dance!
How has Christ come into your world?
How has he made you a believer?
How has his death changed you?
How are you preparing for Judgment Day?
In choosing to live joyfully this Advent, let us:
“Put on the Lord Jesus Christ.” —Romans 13:14
