“Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil.”
–Proverbs 15:16
Is less really more? Most probably yes, if you consider that there is Joy in simplicity of life.
To say the least, events that lead up to a ‘black Friday” shopping frenzy for the holidays to place gifts under the Christmas tree can be exhausting. This includes a mad rush for purchasing the latest gadgets or fashion trends. But we all know that worldly wealth does not form true happiness. Rather, enjoying a favorite pastime of winter can well up in one’s heart with a lasting joy only Christ can give. We can thank God for his beautiful creation.
“Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains; for the Lord has comforted his people and will have mercy upon his afflicted.”
–Isaiah 49:13
Day in and day out, let us aim for Joy in Simplicity.
