HAPPINESS IS HOMEMADE HAPPY THANKSGIVING

“Community means that people come together around the table, not just to feed their bodies, but to feed their minds and their relationships.”

–Henri J.M. Nouwen

The holidays give us hope.  The feast of good eating fills the belly.  Family and friends catch up on life’s stories.  The season of giving begins.  How can we make the coming days very special?  Why not create holy moments like:

Be patient, less demanding, affirm someone, overlook an offense, praise someone doing something good, make a stranger feel welcome, give someone a life-changing book, write a love letter, clean up someone’s mess, bake sweets for your neighbor, help pay for someone at the cash register, pray for those less fortunate, say ‘thank you’ for the smallest, good thing that happens to you…LOL.  This all starts off with Thanksgiving Day.

Happiness is homemade.  Let’s hope God is remembered in all of this hoopla.
