“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.”

Psalm 37:7

To enter into God’s rest takes a challenging effort.

We all experience dark seasons in life.  We don’t want to rest in the dark times.  We rather do anything to change our circumstances; we avoid the call to rest in God.  But it’s in darkness that He fashions deep works of salvation.

“But you are a “chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises” of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

–1 Peter 2:9

“Even in the dark times we must rest in the truth that our destiny is light.”

–Jamie Lash

If we rest as God rests, He will rescue us from the deepest dark trials.

My earliest experience of becoming a ‘warrior’ was when I learned to fence and romanticizing about the knights of the Middle Ages.  As I matured I learned of fencing for the Lord.

“To belong to God we have to experience the two-edge blade of joy — the blade of the cross.”

–Madeleine Delbrel, French spiritual writer

Whatever you attempt doing, finish strong…that’s what my Papa kept telling me to do.  This idea sounds practical but sometimes it’s ever so difficult to accomplish.  I recall many times when my Papa’s advice got me through insurmountable challenges and prayers were answered. Whatever our age, Jesus is the one who gives us meaning.

“He promises to help us finish strong.”
