THE ADACHI GARDEN

The Adachi Garden was created by Adachi Zenko as a seasonal living garden in Japan.

“The secret to making yourself stronger is to absorb the strength of the people around you.”  –Adachi Zenko

GOOD MEMORIES

I shall use my memory only to remember good things.  From this moment, I banish from my mind all wrong memories.  They belong to the mortal being.  I am a child of the Spirit.”

–Paramahansa Yogananda

SEEKING INNER PEACE

Here are some simple yet powerful quotes by Yogananda, especially if you are seeking inner peace.

“Each life is a master novel written by God.”

“Simple living does not mean poverty or poverty consciousness.”

“One must never give up hope of becoming better.”

“Persons untrained in the art of preserving their inner peace are quickly riddled by the bullets of worry and restlessness in active life.”

“You should be able to succeed in any profession or do anything you put your mind to.”

“Take time to find true friends.  Good souls attract good souls, but at the same time do not exclude anyone from your love.”

To this positive list, I humbly add:

“The one who prays is not afraid of the future.”

What would you add?

SOLVING A PUZZLE

“There are no extra pieces in the universe.  Everyone is here because he or she has a place to fill, and every piece must fit itself into the big jigsaw puzzle.”

–Deepak Chopra

The puzzle of the mind is made clear when it can change its thinking.  What was once emphatic, now can become an epiphany.

The challenge is to make the puzzle of life clear.

KEEPING A POSITIVE MINDSET

“Worry doesn’t empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength.”

–Baldev Bhatia

For me, keeping a positive mindset is not to worry, because it is not of God, but of the evil one.  So why would I give satan victory over my life when God is my provider, my protector and my healer?

“Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

–Matthew 6:3-4

In dealing with worry, anxiety and fear, one word from the Word is trust.  If I seek God first, all else shall be given unto me.

Another way to rebuke worry is to practice mindfulness, to focus on the positives rather than the lackings.

And of course, praying in thanksgiving builds up Faith and fortitude to overcome any tribulation.

When worry comes your way how do you stop it?  How do you overcome it?

It’s the weekend, time to relax, rest and enjoy life.
