WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO BE?

Painting by Yvan Guaderrama

What we think God wants us to be will guide our actions and choices.”

–Melannie Svoboda

When I came across Melannie’s question, I knew I had to respond to it carefully.

God wants me to be _____?  How can I fill in the blank?  These words flowed out of me:  Faithful, generous, positive, loving, even jovial, grateful and happy.

How would you describe yourself in answering to “God wants me to be __________?

Whatever the outcome, the answers will surely form us to be the persons we are created to be, don’t you think?

SEEKING OUT FAITH

TODAY’S QUESTION?

Has God found you?

You might find this question odd, especially if one is seeking out faith.  I remember the time when I was seeking God and he quickly reminded me that “You did not choose Me, but I chose you.”  John 15:16

The lamp of faith God sets out for each of us is a steady light on the road of life however dim it may appear.

Again, has God found you today?  I sincerely pray so.

WHEN WE WEEP

Our Lady of Sorrows

TODAY’S QUESTION?

“Why, Mama, are you crying?”

This is the question that Fr. Michael Payyapilly asks at the Mass celebration of Mary honoring her 7 sorrows.  It’s true, every mother cries for her children as Mary sorrowed at the crucifixion of her Son Jesus.  So when we pray to her, she values our tears and brings them to her son for healing.

Another question should be:  Why do we hurt her son by the careless ways of living?

Mary’s response is:  I’m crying because you are not changing your ways that offend my son.

Let us pray to our Lady of Sorrows and thank her for always interceding on behalf of our constant tears.
